Match officials in the United States, officiating premier leagues, national-level games, and international matches, must hold Level 3 certification provided by the West Indies Cricket Umpire Association (WICUA). Mr. Peter Nero from WICUA collaborates with USACUSA trainers to elevate the expertise of USACUA umpires. Year 1:<\/strong>\u00a0Aspirants are required to submit a completed\u00a0USACUSA Membership Application Form<\/a><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and attend a minimum of 75% of\u00a0 training sessions from January to April at any of the regional training centers in USA to qualify for the USACUSA Preliminary Written Examination.<\/p>\n

Aspirants that scored 60% in the April examination are deemed successful and will receive Preliminary Written certificate from USACUSA .<\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n \r\n

\r\n \r\n <\/i><\/span>\r\n <\/i><\/span>\r\n <\/span>\r\n USACUSA Final Examination<\/span>\r\n <\/div>\r\n

Year 2:<\/strong>\u00a0Aspirants are required to pass the USACUSA Preliminary Written Examination and attend a minimum of 75% of training sessions from January to April at any of the regional training centers in USA to qualify for the USACUSA Final Written Examination.<\/p>\n

Aspirants that scored 70% in the April examination are deemed successful and will receive Final Written certificate from USACUSA.<\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n \r\n

Year 2:<\/strong>\u00a0Aspirants are required to pass the USACUA Preliminary Written Examination and the USACUA Final Written Examination to qualify for the WICUA Final Written Examination.<\/p>\n

Aspirants that scored 70% in the August examination are deemed successful.<\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n \r\n

\r\n \r\n <\/i><\/span>\r\n <\/i><\/span>\r\n <\/span>\r\n WICUA Oral & Practical Assessment<\/span>\r\n <\/div>\r\n
\r\n

Year 3:<\/strong>\u00a0Aspirants are required to pass all of the above Examinations and attend a minimum of 75% of training sessions from January to April at any of the regional training centers in USA to qualify for the following assessments that are considered to be the final phase becoming a\u00a0Fully Certified Umpire<\/strong>\u00a0of USACUA (and, by extension, of WICUA).<\/p>\n

  • WICUA Practical Assessments (April to September):\u00a0<\/strong>Aspirants are required to be assessed for 6 x One-Day Matches (40 Overs\/50 Overs) or 12 x T20 Matches. Only assessors designated by USACUA are qualified to assess aspirants. Each assessor may assess a candidate for not more than 2 x One-Day Matches (40 Overs\/50 Overs) or 4 x T20 Matches. The average score from combined practical assessments shall carry 60% weight towards the final score.<\/li>\n
  • WICUA Oral Assessments (November):\u00a0<\/strong>The oral assessment shall carry 40% weight towards the final score.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
